We are a small hobby kennel located near Roanoke, VA, only minutes from the beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.
We own and love our excellent representatives of the English Labrador, and we strive to breed for correct type, soundness and temperament. Our goal is to produce the "All-Around" lab.
The Labradors you'll see on this site are our much-loved companions and a big part of our family. They love to swim, hike, and ride in the car with us almost daily. Our labradors have extremely peaceful, calm temperaments, and get along with their "feline" friends.
All of our breeding stock is certified for joint soundness through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Certifications for eyes are done annually through the Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF). Our puppies are placed with new families on AKC Limited Registrations* to protect their quality of life after they leave our home.
* Limited registration confirms your pet's AKC lineage and allows you to participate in some of the AKC sponsored events, but it does not allow you to show in Breed Conformation. It is primarily a "non-breeding" registration. Any offspring of an animal with limited registration will be unable to obtain an individual AKC registration.*
Our pups are wormed, receive their first shots, and are micro-chipped before going to their new homes. Our pups are born in our home, and they are well-socialized before they leave us.
Here at Lyrical, we strongly recommend crate training in the beginning stages of house breaking. Crate training is a safe and proven method which ensures success through a process that can be very frustrating. If done correctly and consistently, your new labrador puppy should be house trained in less than one month from arriving at his or her new home.
We will consider shipping a pup to his or her new owners, but prefer local pick-up. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
